1601137 - How do you troubleshoot SAP NetWeaver BW JCO Connectivity issues using the BI 4.0 Data Federation Administration Tool?

Symptom

  • A SAP NetWeaver BW SAP Java Connectivity (JCO) connection is defined using the BI 4.0 Information Design Tool
  • The JCO connectivity uses the Data Federation Service.
  • With BI 4.0, the Data Federation Service has been integrated into the SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 Platform.  It is not a separate installation.
  • Exception is encountered when retrieving data from this connection in the Information Design Tool or Web Intelligence Document.
  • For example, the following exception is encountered:

    Database error: [Data Federator Driver][Server] com.businessobjects.datafederator.server.engine.parsers.dml.TokenMgrError: Lexical error at line 6, column 82. Encountered "@"(64),after:"".(IES 10901)
  • How do you troubleshoot this issue, specifically, determine the query being sent to the JCO layer?
