1601593 - Installation error: Repository configuration has failed - Information Steward 4.0

Symptom

  • Installation fails  just before completion.
  • An error message box is produced that starts with the following message: 

"Information Steward Repository configuration has failed with the following error: Extracting argument from {Install_directory}\..\MM\config\MM.properties.
Extracting argument from {Install_directory\..\MM\config\InstallUtility.properties. Initializing environment from EnterpriseNode 730. Please make sure CMS is fully up and running..."

  • The InformationSteward.MMInstallUtility setup log file in "...\SAP BusinessObjects\InformationSteward\MM\log"  shows an error entry that starts with the following lines:

"(COR-10014) Utility processing starts.
Connection fails TCP/IP to host. java.net.UnknownHostException:
com.sap.connectivity.cs.java.drivers.DBDError...: "
