1601876 - BI4.0 - IDT Error: "no sapjco3 in java.library.path" when trying to access a SAP BW 7 BEx Query via an OLAP BICS connection

Symptom

When trying to create an OLAP connection to SAP BW 7 in Information Design Tool, the following error occurs:

  • no sapjco3 in java.library.path

The IDT log file (idt_*_trace.glf) shows entries:

  • Error getting the version of the native layer: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no sapjco3 in java.library.path
  • Assertion failed: Java plugin for InformationDesigner is not loaded
  • JCOConnection Could not initialize class com.sap.bip.jco.JCoManager
