Symptom
- Cross-tab color incorrect
- Report exported to PDF format generates the incorrect cross-tab color
- In Crystal Reports, when exporting a report to PDF format, the cross-tab background color is incorrect
- When exporting to PDF format a report that contains a cross-tab with background colors, only the main background color of the cross-tab appear in the PDF document, all other cross-tab background color for rows and columns are ignored.

- Crystal Reports 2008
- Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010
Reproducing the Issue
- In Crystal Reports, create a report off any data source
- Create a cross-tab, and add database fields for the rows, the columns and summaries
- Format the background columns for the cross-tab totals
- In the "Cross-tab Expert", under the tab "Customize Style", select "Grand Total" under "Columns"
- Under the "Group Options", select a color for the "Background Colors" option. ( Example: Blue )
- Click "OK" to accept the change.
- Format the whole cross-tab background color
- Right click on the cross-tab, and select: "Format Cross-Tab..."
- In the "Format Editor" window, under the tab "Border", set a color for the background option. ( For example, set the color to: Yellow )
- 3 Click "OK" to accept the change.
- Preview the report. Notice the cross-tab colors ( Yellow and blue if you followed the example )
- Export the report to PDF format
- Open the report in Adobe Reader, and notice the cross-tab is all yellow, the blue for the totals is missing.

- The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01526277
Resolution
- The issue has been resolved in Fix Pack 3.6 and higher of Crystal Reports 2008
- The issue has been resolved in Service Pack 2 for Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (ADAPT01533805)
