1603244 - Error message VL622 when reversing goods issue in VL09 - SAP ERP & SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

Attempting to reverse the Goods Issue in VL09 leads to error message VL622 - "No material document could be found for cancellation".
After checking the GI entries in the Document Flow, it is not clear why VL09 does not reverse the material document.
