1604528 - BI 4.0 - RAS doesn't start "Failed to open Crystal Report Engine"

Symptom

  • The Report Application Server (RAS) fails to start and shows "stopped" in the Central Management Console (CMC)
  • In the /var/log/messages, the following error is visible:
Jun 14 15:04:36 Hostname boe_crystalras[29057]: Report Application Server started.
Jun 14 15:04:37 Hostname boe_crystalras[29057]: Failed to open Crystal Report Engine.
Jun 14 15:04:37 Hostname boe_crystalras[29057]: Report Application Server stopped.
Jun 14 15:04:37 Hostname boe_crystalrasd[28999]: Daemon message from Crystal Reports Application Server is down.: %2.
  • After sourcing sap_bobj/setup/env.sh, running ldd sap_bobj/enterprise140/linux_x86/crpe/libcrpe32.so, the following library is missing
libjpeg.so.62 => not found
