1. Create a blank report
2. Select Universe Connection
3. Select a universe
4. In the query panel, select the empty results area with left mouse button
5. Press the 'Delete' key on the keyboard

The issue has been identified and tracked under bug ID ADAPT01556556

This bug has been fixed in service pack (SP) 5 for CR 2008
