1607417 - AS JAVA terminates due to message server connection issue

Symptom

Application server java does not start after modifying profile parameters or deploying service packages/patches. The following error can be seen in default trace files:

"Cannot attach to the Message Server [EXCEPTION] com.sap.engine.frame.cluster.ClusterException: Can't open port [portnum]on host [host] (Invalid argument)."
