Symptom

The Sales Unit is not determined according to the rules set up in the responsibility rule Sales Unit for Sales

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Order work center.
  2. Select New Sales Order.
  3. Enter the Account XYZ (XYZ represents the identification of the account or buyer party)

The sales unit determined is not the one expected according to the responsibility rule Sales Unit for Sales.

Cause

The responsibility rule were extended with parameter field Company ID only for the use case where the Company is entered manually. In a Sales Order the Sales Unit and Sales Organizational determination happens before the seller party is entered in the Sales Order.

Resolution

In case you have defined a parameter Company ID in the responsibility rule Sales Unit for Sales you will need to enter manually the Seller party in the sales order.

  1. Go to the Sales Order work center.
  2. Select New Sales Order.
  3. Enter the Account XYZ.
  4. Go to View All.
  5. Go to the Involved Parties tab.
  6. Enter the Seller DEC (DEC represents the identification of the Seller party) which is maintained as COMPANY in the responsibility rule.

The correct sales unit is now determined in the sales order.

Additionally, you can add the field Seller via the Personalize functionality as follows:

  1. Open a New Sales Order
  2. Select Personzalize -> This Screen
  3. In the Screen Layout select the section Organizational Assignment
  4. Make the field Seller visible.
  5. Save and close your personalization.

Now before you enter an account enter the company in the field Seller. The Sales Unit which has been set up in the rule for this company will now be determined.
