1620696 - Information Message 'Cannot Display Address Data; Data Protected' While Edit/View an Employee's Address Through Business Partner

When you try to view or edit or update an employee's address in Business partner Data work center, system displays below information message:

'Cannot display Address data; data protected'

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Partner Data work center.
2. Select Business Partners view.
3. Select the business partner respective to that employee.
4. Select Edit button and choose Address option.

It is not possible to view the address of the employee.

If the address was created/maintained in the employee's personnel file (Personnel Administration work center) and if it contains the private address of an employee, then this data is protected, that means if you try to access the address from a different work center (via a different business partner) you can't see the data and you get the warning that the data is protected.

So you are able to view or update the address only in personnel file of that employee in Personnel Administration work center.

Note: if the Business Partner has the role Employee only and from this Business partner, you can create an Account (highlight the Business Partner, click 'Create As' button and choose 'Account'). For which different address can be maintained but the address which is maintained through Personnel Administration will remain protected.
