Symptom

This Knowledge Base Article(KBA) is intended to provide additional information about upgrading a typical SAP three system landscape, as well as the common practice to use an extra system during the process (n+1), through the document "Upgrading an SAP System Landscape" in PDF format, which could be found in the attachment section in this KBA.

The document is provided for customers with key technical information regarding the upgrade project preparation, blueprint, realization, final preparation for cutover and the productive cutover + support. A comparasion of a 3-system landscape versus a 2-system landscape is also illustrated.

The document also explains the Upgrade Dependency Analyzer, which is an online tool that can be used to explore multiple upgrade paths as well as provide potential dependencies for older releases of SAP products.
