The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files before you edit the registry.
  1. Login to a working environment
  2. Go to start -> RUN -> Type "regedit"
  3. Within Registry Key Editor go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports
  4. Right Click on the "Crystal Reports" folder and select "Export" OR you can choose the same option from menu File-> Export
  5. Export/Save the registry key to a folder or network, where you can access it when you login as yourself on your laptop
  6. Logout and Login as yourself on your laptop
  7. Do Steps 2 to 5, just to backup your registry keys
  8. Once the backup is done, delete "Crystal Reports" folder
  9. Using Menu File -> Import, import the registry key that was saved earlier in Step 5
  10. Once done, reboot your computer and login to your computer again and test the connectivity
