1628288 - Can not schedule a publication to external recipents in Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.x

Symptom

Publication fails with the following error when trying to distribute the report to external email addresses:

ERROR [PublishingService:HandlerPool-22] BusinessObjects_PublicationAdminErrorLog_Instance_3978 - [Publication ID # 11111] - Distribution to destination CrystalEnterprise.Smtp (To: recipient1@email_address; Cc: recipient2@email_address). Sender: Administrator, document properties: DOCUMENT_NAMEC: 172139 (excel) : (AND). Address error. [[CrystalEnterprise.Smtp] ([1]/[1])] : [Error when sending to SMTP server addresses.
