1634833 - A connection created in XI 3.1 SP2 Universe Designer on a client machine can use the DSN present on the server

Symptom

  • Some of the Client machines are on XI 3.1 SP2 and others are on XI 3.1 SP3 + FP 3.4.
  • From the XI 3.1 SP2 Designer we are able to test the connection using the DSN located on the BO Server. This DSN doesn't exists on the client machine.
  • However, from FP 3.4 Designer the connection test fails with "Data source name not found and no default driver specified" error.
