1636869 - SAP Netweaver 73 installer crashes with a system error on getdiskfreespace

• While installing SAP Netweaver 7.3 Java Appliction server for MS SQL Server 2008 on a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit platform (virtual), sap installer (sapinst) crashes with the following error error:
  FSL-02065  Unable to determine free space on drive D:\: At line 536 file synxcfsmnt.cpp Call stack: iaxxejsctl.cpp: 146: EJS_ControllerImpl::executeScript()
• All prerequisites have already been met before the install.
• Standard and Typical install options are chosen
• The installer crash occurs right after the Master passwords step of parameters stage when it goes into checking phase.
• Status indicates "Checking RAM Size"
