Symptom

  • Unable to use Live office to insert a  Web Intelligence report bloc in Dashboard Design or Xcelsius Designer.
  • Error: "An error occured when refreshing. [<Webi_Report_Name> document part] ".

Environment

SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Designer.

SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Design.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Dashboard Design or Xcelsius Designer.
  2. Use the Live Office plug-in to insert a Web Intelligence report bloc.

Cause

This is by Design when Live Office Compatibility is not Enabled.

Resolution

  1. Open Dashboard Design or Xcelsius Designer.
  2. Go to "File" then "Preferences" and choose "Excel Options".
  3. Enable the "Live Office Compatibility" option.
