1640846 - Error Message 'Action not Possible; Transfer Records Exist for Selected Work Agreement' When Changing the Hire Date of an Employee

You, as a personnel Administrator, try to change the Hire Date of an employee. System may throw the following error message:

Action not possible; transfer records exist for selected work agreement

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Personnel Administration work center.
2. Select the Employees view.
3. Search the respective employee and choose the Edit button.
4. Select the Employment tab.
5. Select the Change Hire Date button and change the date.
6. Select the Save button.

1. The employee might have been terminated earlier and you have re-hired him/her after that.
2. You try to change the current hire date to a date that falls in his/her previous employment time period.
3. There was a transfer event for the employee. To see the transfer details, you can check the change history of the employee.

These will result in the above error message.

For causes 1 and 2, you are required to enter a hire date that should be later than the last termination date.

For cause 3, once the transfer is done for the employee, the system does not allow changes to the hire date.
