1641150 - Adapter start fails with error on editing the configuration "Could not read file $LINK_DIR/adapters/install/.xml" - Data Services

Symptom

  • Attempts to start an adapter in Data Services Management Console have failed
  • The adapter fails to start
  • The error tab is not showing any information regarding the failure
  • Unable to edit the existing adapter
  • Immediately after clicking Start on the adapter the status shows starting, after that the status becomes shutdown
  • Clicking to edit the adapter's configuration, produces the following error: 

" Could not read file '$LINK_DIR/adapters/install/.xml' "
