1641394 - SFW5: How-to activate Business Function

In a SAP NetWeaver system, it is possible to specify which functionalities can be switched on. These functionalities are known as Business Functions and are available via transaction SFW5, where they can be switched on or off.

Before activating a Business Function is important to check the following points:

• Is this Business Function reversible?

  Arrows icon: it means that business function can be switched on or off

  Light icon: it means that business function can only be switched on.

• Users should have authorization object S_SWITCH and S_DEVELOP in their profiles.
• Ensure that no other batch jobs are running, that the system is closed for other users.

This is the easiest way to identify the impact of any activation. However, it's important to say that the great majority of business functions are not reversible.
