1641534 - Unable to Add Multiple Discounts in Percentage to Contract Item

Symptom

You are trying to add multiple discounts in percentage to a contract item but you got the error message: Record for type Discount (Percent) in the period of time already exists.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sourcing and Contracting work center.
  2. Go to the Contracts view.
  3. Create a New contract.
  4. Go to Items tab and click on Add Row.
  5. Go to the Prices tab and add the multiple discounts.

You will get the error message: Record for type Discount (Percent) in the period of time already exists.

Cause

Error message is shown because you have defined two discounts for same line item having validity overlap.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Sourcing and Contracting work center.
  2. Go to the Contracts view.
  3. Create a New contract
  4. Go to Items tab and click on Add Row.
  5. Go to the Prices tab and add the discounts.
  6. Enter the valid to date in first row.
  7. Add another row with different discount but Valid From date must be greater than previous discount.
