- Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
- Go to the Fixed Assets view.
- Search and select fixed asset ABC.
- Click Edit General.
- Click Manual Postings button and select the Individual Material Scrapping option.
- Input the Individual Material ID if not automatically populated.
- Click Simulate (Post).
The Error Message Retirement not possible, individual material /asset not capitalized is shown
Cause
The fixed asset supposed to be scrapped does not have any Acquisition and production Costs (APC) related posting.
This might be due to the cancellation of the Initial Goods and Services Receipt or this fixed asset is a migrated one.
As a result even though the status of the fixed asset ABC is Capitalized, the status of the only Individual Material composing the fixed asset or the Individual Material you want to scrap (if the fixed asset ABC is composed of several Individual Materials) is Assigned instead of Acquired.
Resolution
Retire the fixed asset ABC by manually setting the deactivation day for all set of books.
- Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
- Go to the Fixed Assets view.
- Select the fixed asset ABC.
- Click Edit Master Data.
- Navigate to the Life cycle Data subtab.
- For all Set of Books, set the Deactivation Date to the date which want to retire the fixed asset.
