1650077 - What Is the Difference between Terminate Relationship With an Employee and Terminate Relationship with Employees in Payroll

Are there any other possibilities to terminate an employee other than using Personnel Administration work center? Is there any difference between the tasks Terminate Relationship With an Employee and Terminate Relationship with Employees in Payroll?

The termination process starts in the Personnel Administration work center and task Terminate Relationship with Employee. There is no other place to terminate the relationship with employee in the system. You, as a personnel administrator, should be aware some follow-up activities must be done for a terminated employee.

For the necessary follow-up activities in Time Administration and Compensation, business tasks to review the employee's time data and compensation data upon termination are generated and displayed in the Work views of the respective work center. These business tasks must be processed and completed as well.

Finally, as a follow-up activity to stop Payroll Processing for the employee, the Inactive option in Payroll checkbox has to be selected in the employee's personnel file. This may have to be done only some time later, in case payments to the employee have to be processed through Payroll after his/her termination date.
