1653079 - Active Directory Registration with SAPINST reports error ERROR_DS_NAMING_VIOLATION Error: 8247

Symptom

During the installation of an SAP Netweaver system on a Microsoft Windows Server Operating System within a Microsoft Active Directory environment the installation fails during the step "Create_SAP_LDAP_Group" with the following error in the sapinst_dev.log.

Errors:

  • Microsoft Active Directory Directory Services Standard Error: 8247

   ERROR_DS_NAMING_VIOLATION
   8247 (0x2037)

   There is a naming violation.

  • MOS-01242  Windows System error message number: '8247'. Message: 'There is a naming violation.'.
  • MUT-03025  Caught ESAPinstException in module call: Windos System error message number: '8247'. Message: 'There is a naming violation.'.
  • FCO-00011  The step Create_SAP_LDAP_Group with step key |ADS_TopLevel|windows|ind|ind|ind|0|0|CreateLDAPGroupAndUser|windows|ind|ind|ind|1|0|Create_SAP_LDAP_Group was executed with status ERROR
