Symptom
- In Business View Manager, Unable add an extra level to existing Dynamic Cascading Parameter,
- The ‘>’ key disabled
Environment
- Crystal Reports 2008 (All Versions)
- Business Objects Enterprise 3.1(All Versions)
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a Business View with Dynamic Cascading Parameters with 2 levels.
- Create a crystal report and use the Dynamic Cascading Parameter in your report.
- Now when you try to add one more level to your Dynamic Cascading Parameter, it will not allow you to add and the ‘>’ (arrow) key disabled.
Cause
The Dynamic Cascading Prompt was used by one of your Crystal Reports.
Resolution
- Open all Crystal Reports which are using this Dynamic Cascading Prompt and remove the prompt and save your report.
- Open Business View Manager and Add extra level to the existing Cascading parameter then schedule it.
- In Crystal Designer reconnect parameter with new LOVs(which we have created in BVM). Now you will see the newly create level in your crystal reports.
