1655427 - Data Services Fix Pack 12.2.3.4 Release Notes

This document list the bugs fixed in the 12.2.3.4 Release. Changes are listed in descending order via a tracking number used by SAP BusinessObjects internally for product issues.

Maintenance Installation

This fix pack may either be installed as a new instance of SAP BusinessObjects Data Services or may be installed on top of an existing SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 12.2 instance. For a new instance installation, please follow the instructions in your SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Installation Guide. If you install on top of an existing version, the software will replace the binaries of installed components and reuse the configurations that you configured in the prior installation.

Instructions for installing 12.2.3.4 on top of an existing SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 12.x instance:
For Windows:
You must uninstall the existing SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 12.x before installing 12.2.3.4 by following the below steps:
     1) Perform the steps described in "Using configurations from a previous version ‟ section in "SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Installation Guide for Windows ‟   to backup the configuration files.
     2) Un-install existing SAP BusinessObjects Data Services.
     3) Install 12.2.3.4 and choose option to re-use the configurations at the time of installation.
For UNIX/LINUX:
You can install the 12.2.3.4 fix pack on top of an existing SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 12.2 instance without uninstalling existing one.

Note: if you want to install on top of SAP BusinessObjects Data Services version prior to 12.x, also reference to "Using configurations from a previous version"  section in "SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Installation Guide for Windows‟.

Known issues:
If you install BusinessObjects Enterprise 3.x and Data Services 12.x on the same machine, the installation of Data Services version 12.2.3.4 will overwrite the shared Tomcat and JDK that may break BusinessObjects Enterprise functionality. This issue will be prevented in the next Data Services 12.2.3.x fix pack.
