Managed Crystal Reports Dynamic parameter prompt has no drop down
Environment
- Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1
- Crystal Reports 2008
- Business Objects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0

- Business View Manager
Reproducing the Issue
- In Business View Manager create a Managed List of Values for Crystal Reports
- Create a Data Connection
- Create a Data Foundation
- Create a Business Element
- Create a Business View
- Create a List of Values
- Edit the Data Foundation or Business Element
- Add a Filter based on CECurrentUser which returns no data for Administrator
- Apply the filter to all users including Administrator
- Schedule the List of Values using the Administrator user
- Create a report which uses the List of Values
- Notice that when the report prompts there is no drop down for the prompts
Cause
- Filter added at the Data Foundation or Business Element level is based on user and applied to all users included Administrator
- Filter returns no data for use Administrator therefore result of schedule is an empty List of Values
Resolution
- Edit Rights of the Data Foundation and Business Element filters so they are Not Applied to Administrator
- Edit the List of Values and Clear Instance
- Schedule the List of Values using the Administrator user
