1659710 - Dashboard Designer 4.0 installation failed on Windows 7 64 bit

Symptom

Error 1: Invalid Install directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\
Try absolute directory

followed by

Error 2:  The Product keycode is not valid. INS00140 Error

Environment

Windows 7 64 bit

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010

Reproducing the Issue

Run setup.exe as administrator

Change the default Installation Directory when prompted with first error

Enter valid keycode when prompted

Cause

Conflict with visual studio 2010 installation

Resolution

Rename the C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData folder to "InstallDataVS"
