This note lists the bugs fixed since SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 4.0 Support Pack 2 Patch 1. Changes are listed in descending order via a tracking number used by SAP BusinessObjects internally for product issues.

Maintenance Installation
Installation of Data Services 4.0 Support Pack 2 Patch 1 can be installed on top of any existing Data Services 4.0 versions (for example, SP1 and its patches, or SP2).  You will only need to fill in the "CMS" and "User Info" windows of the installer.

If there is no version of Data Services already installed on the system, it will go through the normal full installation. For full installation instructions, please refer to the SAP BusinessObjects Data ServicesInstallation Guide. Also, refer to SAP Note 1530081 for additional installation and
configuration troubleshooting tips.

Supported installation scenarios
The following is a list of the typical supported installation scenarios for patching to the Data Services Support Pack 2 Patch 1 (DS Patch2.1):
Note: Information platform services can be used in place of BI platform in the following scenarios.
• BI platform 4.0 SP2 + BI platform 4.0 patch 2.5 + DS SP2 + DS Patch2.1 (see known installation issue #3)
• BI platform 4.0 SP2 + BI platform 4.0 patch 2.5 + DS SP1 + DS Patch2.1
• BI platform 4.0 SP2 + BI platform 4.0 patch 2.5 + DS SP2 Patch 1

Known installation issues:
1. If Data Services 4.0 SP0 or SP1 Patches (for example, Patch0.4 or Patch1.3) were already installed on the system, the SP2 Patch 1 installer can install on top of SP0/SP1, but it will not automatically remove the previous patches. You will still see and be able to remove these patches in the Add and Remove Programs utility before or after installing 4.0 SP2.
2. You can install Data Services 4.0 SP2 Patch 1 with BI platform 4.0 SP2 Patch 5 or higher only. The Data Services installer will detect and block the installation if the BI Platform version is not compatible.
3. When installing Data Services 4.0 SP2 Patch 1 on top of 4.0 SP2, the installer will start/stop BOE. This may cause longer installation time.
