Symptom

Xcelsius Input Text component is locked for the first time when used in a corporate dashboard along with a Web Intelligence (Webi) report.

Environment

  • Xcelsius 2008.
  • BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1.
  • Internet Explorer 7.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an Xcelsius visualization containing an Input Text component restricted to use only digits.
  2. Export the Xcelsius dashboard to the BOE platform.
  3. Create a Corporate Dashboard using Dashboard Builder.
  4. Place the Xcelsius .swf file into the Corporate Dashboard.
  5. Save, close and re-open the Corporate Dashboard.
  6. Click directly inside the Input Text box, values can be entered.
  7. Edit the Corporate Dashboard, place a Webi report next to the Xcelsius file.
  8. Save, close and re-open the Corporate Dashboard.
  9. Click inside the Input Text box, values cannot be entered.
  10. Click anywhere outside the Xcelsius, then click inside the Input Text box again, now values Can be entered.
  11. Edit the Corporate Dashboard, remove the Webi report.
  12. Save, close and re-open the Corporate Dashboard.
  13. Click inside the Input Text box, values can be entered now.

Cause

The issue has been identified as a defect and is escalated to Product Group under ADAPT01422988.

Resolution

This issue has been targetted to be fixed in Service Pack 3 Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius 2008.
