1669318 - Problem with Optional parameter in Crystal Reports

Symptom

Crystal Reports retrieving all data when 'blank space' enter instead of Null value in Optional Parameter.

Environment

Crystal Reports Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2, Service Pack 3

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Crystal report which contains at least a field, this field should contain blank spaces (they are not null values)
  2. Create an optional parameter and Create the required record selection formula
  3. Refresh the report
  4. From the 'Enter Values' parameter window, open the list and select the 'blank space'
  5. Select 'OK'

Cause

The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01478648

Resolution

This issue has been addressed by Service Pack 4
