1671614 - Special field "File Path and Name" grows beyond defined boundaries

Symptom

  • Using Crystal reports SDK for VS .NET and the web viewer
  • Special filed "File Path and Name" grows beyond set bnounds even though the option "Can Grow" is not enabled

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • Visual Studio .NET 2008

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a report
  2. Drag and drop the special field "File Path and Name" field onto the report
  3. Make the field box very small
  4. View it in Crystal Reports designer - the text does not go outside the bounds of the field
  5. Create a VS .NET application using the webform viewer
  6. The full path and name will be shown and will overwrite any content to the right of the "File Path and Name" field
  7. Windows form viewer does respect the boundary just like the stand alone CR designer
