1673134 - How to configure 'Sybase SQL Anywhere 10' as a reporting database for Web Intelligence reports on Windows/Linux

Symptom

  • Getting error 'A database error occured. The database error text is: (CS) "DBDriver failed to load : /home/bouser/XIR3/bobje/enterprise120/linux_x86/dataAccess/RDBMS/connectionServer/libdbd_dbodbc9.so (libdbodbc9_r.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)" . (WIS 10901)' when refreshing a Web Intelligence report based on Sybase SQL Anywhere 10 database.
  • When both Sybase SQL Anywhere 10 and Sybase AS IQ 12.7 are being used for reporting, one common client driver can be used.
  • The XI 3.1 SP3 Supported Platforms guide for Linux lists the following middleware choices for Sybase SQL Anywhere 10 database:-
    • Sybase ODBC 9 for Adaptive Server IQ 12.7
    • Sybase SQL Anywhere ODBC Driver 10
  • Either of the drivers listed above can be used. This document describes configuration using the first driver which is the Sybase AS IQ ODBC 9 driver.
