Symptom

  1. The cell highlighting disappears when you click it on the hierarchy + icon

  1. Deselecting the rule does not remove the conditional formatting
  2. Trying to re-apply the conditional formatting via 'Manage Rules' has no effect
  3. The syntax of the Formatting Rule changes from Text values to Key values
