Symptom

  • A simple job that does a simple lookup fails
  • Error like: ODBC data source <...> error message for operation <SQLExecute>: <[DataDirect][ODBC lib] Function sequence error>.
    (14.0) 01-23-12 13:31:39 (E) (249906:8996) RUN-050304: |Session <...Job>|Data flow lookupProduct|Transform
  • The first call to a lookup_ext where the cache type is NO_CACHE works.
  • Subsequent calls fail with the “Function Sequence Error” from ODBC.
