1682109 - SAP Crystal Reports 2011 not recognizing Access 2007 database

Symptom

  • Connecting to an Access *.accdb file from Access 2007
  • Using native connection to Access (Access/Excel (DAO))
  • The *.accdb files are not visible in the Crystal Reports Designer (under the Database menu->Set datasource location)

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2011
  • MS Access 2007

Cause

Using the native JET/DAO engine to connect to MS Access 97 and later is no longer supported

Resolution

Use a 32 bit ODBC datasource to connect to MS Access 97
