Symptom

  • java.io.IOException: Couldn't get lock
  • Distribution Monitor prep phase not working
  • Distribution Monitor stopped in Initialization
  • distribution_monitor.sh does not run properly
  • Distribution Monitor lock files created but no log files
  • Distribution Monitor and concurrent I/O on AIX platform
  • Failed to create logger for log file: distribution_monitor_prepare.log
  • distribution_monitor.sh -p and distribution_monitor.sh -p test creating hundreds of lock files
