1697654 - Error "Print Engine Error/PDF" when exporting a Crystal report to PDF format

Symptom

  • Unable to Export a report to PDF format from BusinessObjects Enterprise
  • Exporting a report to PDF format gives the error “Crystal Reports: Print Error”

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Crystal Report and enter multiple fields in it
  2. Click on "Insert" select "Text Object"
  3. Select the font type as Lucid Sans
  4. Edit the Text Object and enter any text in it.
  5. Save this report  to BusinessObjects Enterprise
  6. Export the report to PDF format.

Cause

The font type used in Text Object is not supported by Adobe Acrobat Reader. Due to which the report is unable to export in PDF format
