1699876 - Error Message: Availability Confirmation - XYZ - Replenishment lead time must be greater than avail.check horizon

When you try to Mass Change Availability Check Horizon for list of Materials, system throws below error message:

Availability Confirmation - XYZ - Replenishment lead time must be greater than avail.check horizon

1. Go to Product Data work center.
2. Select Materials view.
3. Select the required materials. 
4. Select mass Change button.
5. Select Availability Confirmation in the Show field. Enter the Availability Check Horizon in the empty cell below the header column Availability Check Horizon and select Enter key in the keyboard.
6. Select Apply Mass Change button and choose All Items.

The Replenishment Lead Time must be greater than Availability Check Horizon.

The benefit of entering a replenishment lead time is that you obtain a confirmation date that does not move, as opposed to the confirmation date of the check horizon. The reason for this is that the system determines the end of the replenishment lead time by adding the replenishment lead time from the product master to the current date, taking into account the working day calendar of the ship-from location. When the product availability is checked again for the same order a few days later, the system uses the order entry date as the current date and not the “real” current date. In this way, the end of the replenishment lead time stays the same and your confirmation date remains stable.

By defining an availability check horizon, you specify the number of days (today plus a certain number of days) within which the system checks the demand against the supply, taking the working day calendar of the ship-from location into account.

By defining a replenishment lead time, you specify the maximum length of time required for the in-house production or external procurement of a product.

The system works as designed.
