Symptom
Table name LIKE functionality not working for Oracle database in Crystal Reports.
Environment
- Crystal Reports 2008.
- Oracle 10.2.0.3.0.
Reproducing the Issue
- Launch Crystal Reports Designer.
- Create a blank report.
- Go to Database > Database Expert.
- Go to Create New Connection.
- Select Oracle server.
- Under Oracle server connection add the Service, User ID, Password and click on Finish.
- Right click on the table and click on Options.
- Under Database options, select Tables under Data Explorer.
- In Table name LIKE, type the initial alphabet of the available table name in the database (for example A%).
- Click on OK.
- Right click on the tables and click on Refresh.
Still all table names are displayed. Table names starting only with ‘A’ are not displayed.
Resolution
Install Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 5 (latest service pack).
