1705413 - RFC debugging and queue processing fail unless RFC destination uses Dialog or Service user (SM59, SU01)

Symptom

  • Single-step (F5) in the ABAP Debugger does not step into the remotely called function during an RFC to the target system.
  • Remote logon from SM59 to the target system does not work for the RFC destination user.
  • When debugging inbound or outbound queues in SMQ1/SMQ2, the debugger cannot enter the remote function module and shows the error: "Function module does not exist or EXCEPTION raised".
