1712079 - Introscope Enterprise Manager process fails to start on Unix due to conflict on port 6001

Symptom

  • By default, CA APM Introscope Enterprise Manager (formerly known as Wily) listens for incoming connections from managed agents on port 6001.
  • SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform also uses port 6001 by default for the XVFB processes on Unix operating systems
  • When the Introscope Enterprise Manager is started, the process fails, immediately stops, and reports the following error in the IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.log:
[ERROR] [Manager.PostOfficeHub] Server failed to start listening for incoming default socket connections on port 6001
