1712531 - Workflow 'Send Mail' step goes into error

Symptom

  • You use workflow and within your workflows you use the 'Send Mail' step to send mails to users or directly to email addresses.
  • People stop receiving mails.
  • Your workflows go into status error due to the Send Mail step. You see the following error messages in the workflow log.
    • Message no. WL821 - Work item 0000000XXXXX: Object 0000000XXXXX method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION cannot be executed
    • Message no. SO023 - Document <XXXXXXXXXX> could not be sent
