1714368 - Outbound Delivery Shows Incorrect Ship-to Address at Item Level

Symptom

You change the ship-to address at item level in a sales order but the address is not reflected at the item level of the corresponding outbound delivery.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Order work center.
  2. Select the Sales Orders View.
  3. Show All Sales Order then find XYZ(XYZ represents the ID of sales order).
  4. Edit the Sales Order XYZ then change the Ship-to Address to ABC(ABC represents the ship-to address at Item).
  5. Go to the Document Flow of the sales order XYZ, open the outbound delivery and check the Ship-to Address which is EDF(EDF represents the Ship-to Address in Outbound Delivery).

Hence the changed address in the sales order is not copied to the outbound delivery.

Cause

The delivery address in the Outbound Delivery is the same as the Ship-to Address in the sales order item. The issue here is that the header ship to address is changed and this change will not be copied to the item if the Customer Demand was released and the Delivery Status of the Item is in status In Process.

Please be aware of the fact that once an item does not have the Delivery Status Not Started anymore but is In Process, a change of the Ship-to Address on header level will not be copied to the item anymore since Ship-To Address on item level becomes read only once the Delivery Status is In Process.

It will only be copied over to items with the Delivery Status Not Started or to newly added items. This is the reason why the changed address is not reflect in the delivery document.

Resolution

This is the expected system behaviour.
