1719770 - Is it Possible to Add Sales Documents or Purchasing Documents as an Attachment in an Account?


You have a requirement to add Sales Documents (Sales Order or Service Orders) and Purchasing Documents (Contracts or Purchase Orders) as an attachment in any Account. So, you would like to know whether this is possible in the system.

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to Account Management work center.

2. Select Accounts view.

3. Edit an Account and go to Attachments tab.

4. Select Add button and choose File.

5. In the dropdown box for Document Type, you can only find Business Card, Business Partner Image and Standard Attachment.


This feature is not available in the current release of SAP Business ByDesign.

You may consider using the following workaround:

If an Account is used in any other business transaction documents (ex: Sales Order, Sales Quotes, Contracts, etc,.) then you can note down the document IDs in any word documents like Notepad or MS Word. Later you can attach it to the particular Account as a Standard Attachment.

Note: It is possible to have only the pre-delivered Document Types.
