Symptom
- Error: Value "<VALUE>" for variable "<VARIABLE NAME>" is invalid
- In SAP Analysis Office, when attempting to view a BEx Query it generates the error.
- Able to view the BEx Query result set when selecting a value for the variable, other than the default value.
- Able to view other BEx Query in SAP Analysis Office without error.
Environment

Reproducing the Issue
- In SAP Analysis Office, open a BEx Query that have at least one variable
- Leave the default variable values and attempt to view the result set.
- You will then receive the error: Value "<VALUE>" for variable "<VARIABLE NAME>" is invalid
Cause
- This issue occurs because the default variable values was personalized using the SAP Integration Kit for Crystal Reports
- The personalized value for the variable is not store in a format that SAP Analysis Office can use, and this is why it generates the error.
- The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01635492
Resolution
- The way the personalized value is stored in the SAP System has been resolved in Support Pack 05, therefore to resolve this issue apply the update for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.
- If you cannot apply the product update for some time, then to workaround this error, replace the variable default value by selecting a value for the variable from the list of values.
