1729787 - Explorer indexing fails due to a timeout. Same query when run on IDT fails as well with Query timeout expired error.

Symptom

  • Explorer indexing is failing after 10 minutes
  • Explorer Indexing server logs indicate the following error : "[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]Query timeout expired"
  • There are no query execution limits in universe business layer.
  • All timeout setting have been changed to allow indexing on queries that take longer than 10 minutes to return data.
  • The query runs successfully after about 15+ minutes on the SQL Server database.
  • Information Design Tool (IDT) : The exact same query also fails when run from IDT on the Client workstation - thereby eliminating the isue with
