How to use Hierarchical Table in Dashboard Designer 

• SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.0 SP04 and above
• SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.1
• SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.2

1. From Information Designer Tool, create a connection with Business Warehouse BEx Query which include Hierarchical Object.
2. Publish the BEx Query connection to Repository.
3. Open Dashboard Designer, click File and select New to create a new Dashboard.
4. Open Query Browser tab, click Add Query and login BusinesssObjects Enterprise.
5. From the prompt up page, select BEx and click next.
6. Select the connection you published and click next.
7. Drag the Hierarchical Object to the Result Objects panel and click next.
8. The data preview page will display, click next and configure the refresh option.
9. Click ok to finish.
10. Open Components tab, drag Hierarchical Table component to the design window.
11. From the General configure page, click the arrow icon, select Query Data and click ok.
12. Preview the Dashboard, the Hierarchical object will display hierarchically, expand or collapse the level by clicking the arrow icon.

**Please be noticed that the hierarchical table is only used for OLAP connection, it cannot be used for relational connection data source.**
