1747942 - File repository server cleanup is failing when moving input and/or output to NAS file share server.

Symptom

  • After changing input and/or output File Repository Server (FRS) to a NAS server share; the following errors start showing up in the trace files: "Unable to delete file from the file repository. Make sure a File repository Server is running and registered and enabled. Details: File system operation for frs://output/a_074/086/097/123819594/ on File Repository Server failed. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator for event log information."
  • Also the following errors can be seen: " FileStoreManager::remove: Failed to remove the file /share/filerepository/frsoutput/a_239/144/029/119378159/ in a file system operation. Please check access rights or for a sharing violation. Reason:File exists"
  • You can also see cleanup errors/failures appear in the CMS trace file
  • If you do a truss trace on UNIX; you may see a "getdirent" function returning a -1 value. And after this error try to do a rmdir command on a folder straight away instead of returning and cleaning the file objects first in that folder.
