1752237 - What does the 'show value only' parameter option do in Crystal Reports?

• Need to display parameter value in Crystal Reports

For example D001

• Full technical name string is displayed

For example [XXX_Code].[D001]

Crystal reports 2008 Service Pack 5

• Open report
• Edit the parameter in question
• Scroll down the value options until the 'Show value or Description' option is found
• Select 'Show Value'

This has been escalated to Product Group under reference number ADAPT01654662 for further explanation for this functionality.

This by design.  The 'Show Value' option will bring back the technical name which includes the whole value string, in this case

 [XXX_Code].[D001]

If only part of the value string is required, then a formula might be used.
