1752349 - DB connection fails with SQL error 431 - user's password will expire within few days

Symptom

  • The DB connection to a HANA database fails for a technical user although it used to work properly.
  • Error messages like

       Try to connect via secure store (DEFAULT) on connection 0 ...
        *** ERROR =>
        Connect to database failed, rc = 431 (user's password will expire within few days: expire time (UTC) at  [<UTC timestamp>])

    can be found in the developer trace of the work process or in the trans.log file.
